1st April 2015 – Well with Superfast South Yorkshire and Knowledge About Telecoms you can. Maybe not the ideal date to launch something new but from today Sheffield, Doncaster, Rotherham and Barnsley (under the Superfast South Yorkshire banner) have been added to the list of towns and cities where businesses can access the Government Connection Voucher scheme.

This extends the reach of the scheme which makes up to £3,000 worth of connection vouchers available to eligible small businesses and charities in search of faster, more reliable superfast broadband and connectivity to support business critical applications such as, data transfer, flexible working, VoIP and cloud based services. The connection vouchers are provided in the form of a non-repayable grant to cover or contribute to one-off installation fees and help small businesses and charities take advantage of services such as fibre broadband, wireless and leased line products.

Anthony Temperton of Knowledge About Telecoms says “This is a great opportunity for businesses across South Yorkshire to boost their connectivity. Let’s remember, getting superfast broadband is only half the story, the benefits of getting faster connectivity and being able run cloud based applications such as Microsoft 365 and hosted phone systems are the real areas businesses can benefit. The Connection Vouchers program are only part of the Superfast South Yorkshire story with plans to boost superfast fibre coverage up to 97.9% of the region before the end of 2017. This fibre rollout will be completed in 8 individual stages.

The Connection Voucher program is a limited funding program and when the money has gone, its gone.
