Digital Region
What can Superfast Broadband offer your business?
It is the right time to review your broadband connection thanks to Digital Region in South Yorkshire.
Our superfast Broadband services offer download speeds of “up to 40Mbps” and upload speeds of “up to 10Mbps”. As a business, these superfast broadband services will ultimately allow you to do more, faster.
For example:
- File download and upload in seconds (quicker back-up, etc)
- No delay in bringing up Internet pages
- Minimum line download speed of 15Mpbs
- Additional bandwidth will improve the performance of Virtual Private Networks making uploading and downloading of files more efficient, meaning working from home becomes a more viable option.
- The use of multi-media and conferencing facilities will improve with higher download and upload speeds as will the use of live (legal) streaming services.
- Lower call costs by taking advantage of KAT Communications Hosted phone systems plus the end of high maintenance charges on phone systems.
- By storing applications and services in ‘the cloud’, businesses do not need to invest in site-wide licenses or costly programmes when they can license software on a per seat or per event basis. For multisite organisations, cloud based architecture can lead to further cost savings through shared services.

Variations in download and upload speeds
The advertised speed of Digital Region services is “upto 40Mbps” but what does this mean to your business. The Digital Region network is based on Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) services, which means your broadband is driven from a local cabinet or hub which should never be more than 500 metres from your premises.
This translates to average estimated service of 25Mbps actual download rate, you could receive 66Mbps. The actual figure cannot be confirmed until your service is installed, due to variables such as the quality of copper and proximity of interference or the age and quality of the wiring within your premises.
Analogue Line
You will need an analogue line at your premises for the service to be provisioned. If you do not have one, we can make arrangements to have one installed. This will require a separate order and installation appointment.
